About Venetian Pool

Venetian Pool is a landmark public swimming pool that has welcomed guests since 1923, when it was transformed from a former limestone quarry into a Mediterranean-style aquatic wonderland. Fed daily by spring water from an underground aquifer, the pool is refilled with over 820,000 gallons of fresh water and framed by terracotta-roofed buildings, wrought-iron balconies, cave-like grottos, and two waterfalls.

Visitors can swim, sunbathe on the small sandy area, or rent a lounge chair while taking in the old-world charm of this Coral Gables icon. Recent renovations were supported in part by Florida's Division of Historical Resources.
