About Coral Castle

Coral Castle in Homestead is an outdoor stone garden and museum carved by Latvian immigrant Edward Leedskalnin between 1923 and 1951. Working with basic tools, he excavated, shaped and moved roughly 1,100 tons of oolitic limestone, which guests see today as stone furniture, astronomical markers and a perfectly balanced 9-ton gate.
