About Zoo Miami

Zoo Miami is Florida's largest and only tropical zoo, spanning nearly 750 acres in South Miami-Dade with more than 2,000 animals representing over 375 species — more than 130 of which are threatened or endangered. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the zoo also features over 1,000 species of tropical trees, palms, and plants, making it a dual attraction as both a world-class zoo and botanical garden.

Visitors can explore four miles of walkways, catch a ride on the monorail or tram, splash in the splash pad, rent bikes or pedal carts, and visit a petting zoo. Admission starts from around $28, with advance ticket purchase recommended.

The zoo hosts year-round events including seasonal light shows, farmers markets, spring and summer camps, and fundraising galas. Free parking is available on-site.

With its warm subtropical climate, Zoo Miami is a true all-seasons destination and a top choice for families, nature lovers, and first-time Miami visitors.
