About Gator Bait Wakeboard & Wakesurf School

Gator Bait Wakeboard & Wake Surf School has been Miami's premier on-water instruction destination for over 20 years, operating out of Rickenbacker Marina in Key Biscayne. The school offers private, all-inclusive wakeboarding and wakesurfing sessions on Biscayne Bay for all skill levels — from first-timers as young as 4 years old to seasoned riders.

Every session is priced at $300 per hour of boat time (not per person), and includes a USCG-licensed captain, experienced instructor, premium Ronix boards, fuel, equipment, and tax. The fleet consists of four brand-new 2026 MasterCraft boats, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience on the water.

Instructors are certified through USA Wakeboard, the WWA, and the IWWF, and are trained in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR. The school uses three different riding spots to guarantee calm water conditions.

Open seven days a week from 7 AM to 8 PM, advance booking is available online. Look for the inflatable green alligator on the boat at the dock.

Know Before You Go

  • Book your session in advance online — weekend morning slots (especially Sunday 7–9 AM) fill up fast.
  • Arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled departure; the boats are behind Gramps Getaway restaurant at the marina — look for the inflatable green alligator.
  • Pricing is $300/hour of boat time regardless of group size, so splitting with friends significantly reduces the per-person cost.
  • Bring towels, sunscreen, and any drinks you'd like — you're welcome to bring alcohol on board, but the boat does not provide ice.
