Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a historic estate and art museum set on the shores of Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove. Built in 1916 as a winter retreat, the Italian Renaissance-style villa houses original furnishings, European antiques, and decorative art collections across dozens of rooms.

Outside, formal gardens filled with fountains, grottos, and sculpture, including the celebrated Peacock Columns by Gaston Lachaise, invite visitors to wander for hours. The estate also includes a working village, orchid displays, and rotating contemporary art exhibitions through its Contemporary Arts Program.

Visitors typically spend one to two hours exploring the mansion and gardens combined, with self-guided and guided tour options available. Vizcaya regularly hosts evening concerts, workshops, and cultural events that bring the estate to life after dark.

Admission includes access to the main house, gardens, and Vizcaya Village. Advance ticket purchase is recommended, especially for weekend visits when the estate draws its largest crowds.
