About Tropical Park

Tropical Park is one of Miami-Dade's most popular public parks, drawing approximately 1.5 million visitors annually to its sprawling 275-acre grounds near Westchester.

Built on the site of a former horse track in 1979, the park offers miles of paved biking, walking, and running paths, four separate lakes for boating and fishing, a bark park for dogs, playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball, racquetball, a boxing center, and a world-class equestrian center. The Ronald Reagan Equestrian Center hosts more than 36 horse shows a year across three covered arenas, while the Mary Abreu Community Center accommodates conventions and events.

Baseball, softball, soccer, and track and field round out a full menu of sports. Open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM, admission to the park itself is free, making it a go-to destination for families, fitness enthusiasts, and equestrian fans across South Florida.
