About Rubell Museum

The Rubell Museum is one of the most celebrated private contemporary art collections in the world, occupying a striking 100,000-square-foot campus in Miami's Allapattah neighborhood. Originally a DEA warehouse, the building was transformed by Selldorf Architects into a world-class museum featuring 53,000 square feet of galleries.

The collection spans works by internationally renowned and emerging artists — from Yayoi Kusama and Jean-Michel Basquiat to Keith Haring and Kehinde Wiley. Ongoing highlights include Kusama's fully immersive Infinity Room and Narcissus Garden installations, while rotating exhibitions and solo presentations keep the programming fresh each season.

The museum also hosts an artist-in-residence program supported by the Knight Foundation. On-site amenities include a café, restaurant, gift shop, and free Wi-Fi.

With free parking, wheelchair accessibility, and guided tours available, the Rubell Museum is a must-visit for art lovers, first-time visitors, and Miami locals alike. Admission fee applies; members enjoy unlimited access.

Best Times

Weekday mornings (Wednesday–Thursday) offer the most relaxed experience with smaller crowds. Miami's October–April dry season is peak tourist season, so expect higher attendance during Art Basel Miami Beach in December when the museum is especially popular. Friday and Saturday evenings, when the museum stays open until 7:30 PM, attract a lively after-work crowd. As a primarily indoor, air-conditioned venue, the Rubell Museum is a great choice year-round, even during South Florida's hot and humid summer months.
