Miami Design District

The Miami Design District is an open-air neighborhood built around fashion, design, art, architecture and dining. The streets and plazas are lined with flagship boutiques such as Cartier and restaurants such as Le Jardinier, and the public art is scattered throughout, including Katie Stout's Gargantua's Thumb, April Bey's COLONIAL DAY SALE...

and Bony Ramirez's Musa Coccinea on the second floor of Palm Court. The master plan came from Duany Plater-Zyberk, with contributions from architects including Hariri and Hariri, Terence Riley and Alison Spear.

Plan on a long visit: Tripadvisor lists the typical stay as more than 3 hours. Walking the grounds costs nothing, and the district runs a rolling calendar of free and ticketed programming, from Saturday public art tours to the Markets for Makers spring market in Jungle Plaza.

Guided food and art tours start around $100 per person. The district sits at 140 NE 39th St.

and keeps shop hours of 11am to 8pm Monday through Saturday and noon to 6pm on Sunday, with restaurant hours varying.
