Amelia Earhart Park

Amelia Earhart Park is a sprawling 515-acre county park in Hialeah built around five freshwater lakes, offering something for nearly every kind of visitor. Families gather at Tom Sawyer's Play Island, a fort-style playground with climbers, slides and musical elements designed for kids ages 2-12, while the Bill Graham Farm Village petting zoo introduces children to Miami-Dade's agricultural roots.

Outdoor enthusiasts can ride free mountain bike trails for beginners through advanced riders, rent bikes on weekends, or try cable wakeboarding and boat wakeboarding at the Miami Watersports Complex on the park's 90-acre lake. The park also has a fenced five-acre Bark Park for dogs, soccer fields, a baseball field, basketball and tennis courts, volleyball courts, picnic shelters and barbecue grills.

Parking is free on weekdays and $8 on weekends and holidays. With wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms and parking, plus wide open green space, it's a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking to spend a low-cost day outdoors in Miami.
