About Gramps

Gramps was one of Wynwood's most iconic bars, a refreshingly unpretentious hangout in Miami's art-saturated neighborhood. With its dark, eclectic interior and sprawling outdoor area, the bar drew a diverse, creative crowd looking for great drinks without the South Beach pretension.

Gramps ran the gamut of entertainment — live bands, stand-up comedy, drag shows, DJ nights, karaoke, trivia, and arcade games — making it a true community hub. The craft cocktail program was a highlight, with well-made drinks including a legendary Penicillin and Moscow Mules, alongside an impressive beer selection.

Happy hour ran Monday through Friday from 4–8 PM with discounted drinks and food. Located inside the Pizza Tropical complex at 176 NW 24th Street, guests could fuel up on pizza before or between rounds.

The venue was LGBTQ+ friendly, dog-friendly, wheelchair accessible, and welcoming to all — a rare combination that cemented its status as a local legend. Note: Gramps is permanently closed.

Gramps was liveliest on weekend nights when DJ sets, drag shows, and live performances drew large, energetic crowds. Friday nights were especially popular for transitioning from happy hour into a full night out. Special event nights — comedy shows, trivia, and themed parties — could fill the venue quickly.
