About Broken Shaker

Broken Shaker is where Miami's cocktail scene began its reinvention. Born as a pop-up in 2012 and quickly established as an industry benchmark, this James Beard Award semi-finalist and Tales of the Cocktail 'Best American Hotel Bar' winner lives inside the Freehand Hotel on Indian Creek Drive in Mid-Beach.

The vibe is bohemian and intimate — a lush interior courtyard with a pool deck, garden seating, and warm, tropical energy that feels worlds away from the South Beach frenzy just a few miles south. The cocktail menu is inventive and ingredient-driven, drawing on Caribbean influences with seasonally rotating creations like 'The Luckiest,' featuring Appleton rum, Aperol, and Coppalli Cacao.

Happy hour runs Sunday through Thursday from 5–7pm, with discounted cocktails, $5 Miller High Life, and street tacos for $10. Regular events include live DJ sets, the Women of House music series, Turntable Bagel brunch pop-ups, and Penelope's Pizza every first and third Thursday.

Dogs are welcome, walk-ins are accepted, and the atmosphere draws a mix of savvy locals, hotel guests, and tourists who know where to drink well.
